Host a Future World Allergy Congresses

Is your society interested in co-hosting a World Allergy Congress (WAC) in 2027 or 2028? Contact us at info@worldallergy.org for more information. WAO partners with one of its member societies to co-host the annual WAC. Your society must be in good-standing to submit a proposal to host a WAC in your country. Successful conferences may lead to shared profits as well as worldwide recognition and the chance to exhibit excellence in allergy and immunology medicine in your country or region.

Apply to Host a World Allergy Training School (WATS)

World Allergy Training Schools (WATS) are educational activities of the WAO Emerging Societies Program (ESP), which aims to provide education in allergy and assist societies in the promotion and development of the specialty of allergy.

WATS are uniquely designed to present hands-on basic allergy training and information to physicians in regions where adequate allergy and immunology care and resources may not be widely available. ESP WATS is a collaboration of the World Allergy Organization (WAO) and the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI).

In 2023, WAO was able to re-start the WATS after a multi-year hiatus due to COVID-19. In that time, we held a WATS in Tblisi, Georgia; Arusha, Tanzania; and Bangkok, Thailand.

In 2024, there will be 5 WATS!

- Nairobi, Kenya in collaboration with the Allergy Society of Kenya (ASOK)

- Asunción, Paraguay in collaboration with the Paraguayan Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (SPAAI)

- Lagos, Nigeria in collaboration with the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Society of Nigeria

- Yerevan, Armenia in collaboration with the Armenian Association of Allergologists and Immunologists (AAAI)
Salvador, Bahia, Brazil in collaboration with the Brazilian Association of Allergy and Immunology (ASBAI)

The opportunity to host a WATS is available to WAO Member Societies with annual meetings and where the access to specialized allergy/immunology education and care is limited.

Support WAO and Participate in its Governance

WAO Member Societies (not including our Associate, Affiliate and Regional Societies) are required to pay annual dues, which are calculated in proportion to their list of active members. The funding from these membership dues directly supports WAO’s educational and outreach programs; such as, the Centers of Excellence, WATS, World Allergy Week, and many others.

Dues-paying WAO Member Societies also play a significant part in the governance of WAO. WAO Member Societies can participate in the annual House of Delegates meeting at the WAC each year by sending a delegate to represent them. This meeting summarizes the activities of WAO throughout the year and delegates may also ratify items, such as the admission of new member societies, upcoming WAO meetings, and other important organizational decisions. Please check the current list of delegates on our website here and contact the WAO Secretariat if any delegate contact needs to be updated. Information regarding the House of Delegates meeting at WAC 2024 Lisbon will be emailed in the coming months.

NOTE: Only delegates from WAO Member Societies that have paid its current, annual dues will be eligible to vote at the House of Delegates meeting.
